Elopement - 2 Hours Coverage

THE SCENE SETTER:

Lucy and Mark had planned to have a big, "as expected" wedding day with all their friends and family. This is the day I was originally booked to photograph. During the planning process, they both realised that what they actually really wanted to do, was elope. So riding the wave of that strong urge, they decided to go for it. They settled on eloping where they had their first date, which would then be followed by a celebration style wedding day with their loved ones at a later date.

So, let's take you back to a blustery September afternoon. Slightly grey in weather, but bright and magical in emotion. I met the couple and their two closest friends at Ashton Memorial. Possibly the most aesthetic building I've ever photographed an elopement in. With views stretching out across Morecambe Bay, the mountains of the Lake District stand in the distance. I felt them winking at me!

The ceremony was short and sweet followed by the easiest confetti throw I've ever had to direct. They used Proper Confetti {tagged}, which caught the wind and danced perfectly. Lucy and Mark were well impressed with my recommendation [go bag yourself some!]. We then had a short time together capturing some photographs around the venue and over in the butterfly house.

This micro wedding day left a not so micro mark on my heart. I'm now an elopement addict and actively seek out couples wishing to do something as beautifully intimate as this pair.

KIND WORDS:

Chelsey was our photographer for our secret elopement and our "big wedding". I found Chelsey on Instagram and her style really stood out. After the initial enquiry, we had a Zoom chat and instantly knew she'd be our photographer!

We're a couple that don't take many photos together and felt a bit anxious about being infront of the camera. But Chelsey was genuinely like having a friend around. She is so lovely and put us completely at ease. We only had 5 people at our elopement (including us and Chelsey) and it felt like she was another guest, celebrating with us.

I'm disabled and use crutches and naturally look down when walking. So I was worried about walking back down the aisle and also going through the confetti, but I really wanted a confetti moment. Chelsey took the pressure away with two amazing suggestions - to stop halfway down the aisle for a just married kiss and for us to stand in the middle of our family and friends for the confetti shot. The previews were shared within a few days and we couldn't have wished for better photos - it felt like a dream going through everything.

Thank you so much Chelsey for your absolute magic across both days. We loved hanging out!
