A dream Lake District wedding at Holesfoot

Where do I even begin with this day?

I'll start with the venue. Set in the stunning Eden Valley with 20 acres of private land stands the most perfect wedding venue of all. Holesfoot spoils guests with a mix of wild and nurtured gardens, a woodland, picturesque meadows and not forgetting a lake. Oh and yes, there is a boat for you newlyweds to cruise around it! This was my first time photographing here and I'm desperate to get back. A true home from home, with all its whimsical quirks and pockets of luxury. If you're looking for a rustic wedding venue with multiple ceremony spaces and the option to have friends and family stay over then you should absolutely consider this gem.

When Kate and Sam's enquiry dropped through I was instantly excited. "We want our wedding to reflect our love of the outdoors, good food and the love for each other and our friends and family. Relaxed, romantic and emotional but an unforgettable party too.". I can confirm they nailed their own brief and the day was nothing short of perfection.

One thing that really stood out to me about this day was just how passionate Kate was for ensuring each element of the day was carefully thought out with an eco-conscious mind. Here's a list of just some of the things they did:

Kate's bridesmaids dresses were rented from Nobody's Child and hung up on thrifted wooden hangers from a charity shop. Kate added the lovely little touch of the bridesmaids names herself.
Sam and his groomsmen were all wearing Herdwick wool bow ties which were lovingly made by his talented mum.
They chose an amazing florist, The Fellside Flower Company, who grow their own seasonal British flowers for their arrangements.
Kate's second dress was from a pre-loved bridal shop (and it was fabulous!).

I'm so grateful to Kate and Sam for choosing me to document their day. It was truly wonderful.
